WWDC2023 15 inch MacBook Air

All three new Macs debuted on June 5, during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), and Apple began accepting pre-orders that same day. Today is also the day that all new Macs will be available in Apple retail store locations. Since New Zealand currently doesn’t have any Apple Stores, Australia will be the first country where the new machines appear in-store.

Deliveries and in-store availability of the new Macs will next begin in Asia, Europe, and North America, in that order.

The Mac Pro is a “Product of Thailand?”

In other Mac Pro-related news, the new “Pro” has a “Product of Thailand” label, even though the FCC filing notes that the final assembly of the “Pro” desktop Mac still takes place in the US

The previous-generation Mac Pro included components that were manufactured by more than a dozen American companies for units sold in the US. However, the label on 2023 Mac Pro models sold in the U.S. now reads:

Designed by Apple in California. Product of Thailand. Final assembly in the USA.

While the final assembly of the Mac Pro will continue to be based in the US, all other Macs are both manufactured and assembled in other countries.
