If using your Apple TV remote is too much bother for any reason, worry not. You’ll soon be able to use Siri to operate your telly.

Apple media boss Eddy Cue told Buzzfeed that the revamped remote app should be out before next summer.

“We’re working on a new Apple TV remote app that will give you the full functionality of the Siri Remote on your iPhone,” Cue said.

“We’re hoping to ship that in the first half of next year.”

In October it was announced that Apple Music would get Siri support on new Apple TVs next year.

Meanwhile, it was recently rumoured that a fifth-generation Apple TV may arrive sooner than previously thought.

The new Apple TV will reportedly pack a new processor that will “dramatically improve” performance to compete with its rivals.

It is believed such a device will require a more effective heat-dissipation solution than the current models.
